Shefali Jariwala
It came as an absolute shock when news surfaced that actress Shefali Jariwala, popular for her iconic dance hit Kaanta Laga, tragically passed away from a cardiac arrest a few days ago. She was declared dead upon arrival at Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital. Even as tributes continue to pour in from across the country, her close friend and former co-star Pooja Ghai revealed a shocking detail: Jariwala reportedly had received a Vitamin C IV drip on the day of her sudden demise.
In a recent interview, Ghai explained that the use of Vitamin C IV drips are commonplace and are used routinely by actors. However, medical experts caution that mixing using anti-aging injections and unmonitored IV infusions can lead to serious circulatory issues, especially for people with pre-existing health concerns.
Pooja said: “I live in Dubai, fortunately, I am not an actor anymore, so I don’t need it. But, I think everybody takes that and I am sure everybody needs it, and it’s so common. If you walk down the streets here in Dubai, you see multiple vitamin C drips at regular clinics and regular salons. I think she was in a profession where she had to be her best, and she was her best. It was so heart-wrenching to see when she came home for her final rites, she was looking so godamn pretty. So it’s a part of everyone’s life, and it’s not unsafe. I don’t think it’s unsafe. It’s just a bad time on that day.”
Pooja further added: “Like I said, it’s a very normal thing to take vitamin C. I mean, we all take vitamin C, right? I think post-COVID people have just started taking vitamin C as regularly as possible, and vitamin C is something I take as well. So it’s a very normal thing to take. Some people just pop in a tablet, and some people take it through an IV drip. So, yes, she did take an IV drip on that day.” Well, it cannot be said enough that people, celebrity or otherwise, seek proper medical advice before opting for invasive treatments like these.
