While Arjun Kapoor and his father Boney Kapoor are on good terms now the truth is it wasn’t always this way. Recently speaking on his father’s second marriage to Sridevi, Arjun had replaced with grace and civility saying, “I’m respectful towards her (Sridevi) because she is my father’s wife. She will always remain that. My father is very happy with her and for me that is important.
However, there was a time when a pregnant Sridevi was assaulted by Sattee Shourie, a producer and mother of Boney’s first wife Mona Shourie. On New Year’s Eve of 1996, the intensity of Boney Kapoor’s extramarital relationship with Sridevi had reached its pinnacle. The pair was spotted having coffee at a luxurious hotel in Juhu.
Sattee who noticed them couldn’t disregard the shameless display before her eyes, as her son-in-law engaged in conversation with his newfound companion openly in public.
Reportedly, she approached Boney and Sridevi, triggering a confrontation that escalated beyond expectations, unleashing all her anger and hurt upon the pair. The situation deteriorated unexpectedly. Allegedly, the conflict even turned physical, directed at Sridevi who was pregnant with their first child, until others intervened to pacify the incensed Sattee. It was a challenging period for all parties involved, and such an outburst sadly seemed inevitable.
People may recall an incident where an insecure and furious Sridevi caused a major commotion outside their residence because Boney had taken Mona and his children, Arjun and Anshula, out for a picnic.
The couple exchanged vows in 1996 and were graced with two daughters: Janhvi, who is making her debut in Karan Johar’s “Dhadak,” and Khushi. In the words of Arjun, life moves forward.
