Sardaar Ji 3: Diljit Dosanjh’s film sees huge response in Pakistan amid ban in India, breaks this blockbuster’s record

Sardaar Ji 3 has now smashed records in Pakistan as it opened in cinemas on Friday. It has overtaken Salman Khan's Sultan as well.

Sardaar Ji 3 is a film that stars Diljit Dosanjh along with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Ever since the Pahalgam attacks, Indian artists have been asked not to work with people that hail from across the border. Dosanjh stands by his decision and in an interview, revealed he doesn’t care if he doesn’t get work in Bollywood. Some people, including Javed Akhtar, have stood by the actor and said the film was shot before the attacks happened and it was not his fault.

Sardaar Ji 3 smashing records in Pakistan

Pakistan-based Cinegold Plex shared a video that was re-shared by Diljit on Instagram. The caption read- “12 shows on ultra screens. The largest in the country. The overwhelming response from the audience for ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. Come and watch!”

As per reports, the film has collected $500,000 on its first day in Pakistan, which is a new record. In two days, the film has earned ₹11.03 crore worldwide.

At a recent event, the veteran writer said, “What can the poor guy do now? The movie was shot earlier. He didn’t know something like this would happen. It’s not a Pakistani’s money that will be lost, it’s an Indian’s. So what’s the point?”

The writer added, “I think the government and the censor board should look at the situation with a little sympathy. And say that don’t do this again, but since you made this film before, then release it. But it should not happen again.”

Mika Singh had a contrary opinion that read- “Desh pehle (Country first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now.”

The singer continued, “Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation’s dignity is involved.”
