Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan made headlines recently after they announced their collaboration for the ‘biggest love story’ of 2026. Titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, the project marks a patch-up between the actor and filmmaker after their alleged rife following the falling apart of Dostana 2. Although the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor has been confirmed as the main lead, the details about who will be seen opposite him remains unknown. Naturally, this led to a lot of speculations about who could be Kartik’s leading lady in the film.
Earlier there were reports of multiple actresses being considered for the role. However, now it looks like the makers have finalised the leading lady. And it is none other than Ananya Panday.
Ananya Panday finalised for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri?
While the reports of Ananya being cast opposite Kartik were rife, the actress was spotted exiting the same office as Kartik and director Sameer Vidhwans last night in Mumbai. Sources suggest it was a script reading session that Ananya attended with Kartik Aaryan and Sameer Vidhwans.
Earlier, there were reports that several actresses including Sreeleela, Sharvari Wagh and Kiara Advani were being considered to play the female lead in the romantic comedy film. Later some reports suggested that Ananya and Sharvari were leading the race to star opposite Kartik.
Initially, rumours were also rife that Janhvi Kapoor was being considered for the role. However, it was later reported that producer Karan would either lock Ananya or Sharvari. Bollywood Hungama reported, “Kartik and Karan were looking for an actress with strong pull in the youth, and after contemplating the names, they have locked Ananya to play the female lead. Ananya and Kartik are a successful pair, and this would extend their partnership further.”

Notably, Kartik and Ananya have previously worked together in Pati Patni Aur Voh. However, according to reports Kartik has offered the sequel to that to Sharvari.
According to sources, “While Ananya is doing Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Kartik has promised another film to Sharvari. The duo will be teaming up on another love story by the end of 2025. Kartik is clear to maintain equations with all his female co-stars, and a promise made now will be fulfilled soon. He has also offered Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 to Sharvari.”
Coming to Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, the film is expected to go on floors in May 2025. The film will reportedly star Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead, while being helmed by Satyaprem Ki Katha fame Sameer Vidhwans.
The rom-com will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures. It is expected to be released in 2026.
