Zareen Khan Recounts Her Casting Couch Experience with a Bollywood Filmmaker
Zareen Khan, who will next be seen in Punjabi film Daaka, shared how a director once asked her to rehearse a kissing scene with him
Many Indian celebrities have experienced casting couch during the early days of their careers and many of them have started opening up about these incidents. Zareen Khan -- who made her debut with Salman Khan’s 2010 film Veer and will next be seen in Punjabi film Daaka -- is the latest celebrity to recount her casting couch experience during her initial days in the film industry. In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, the actress revealed how a filmmaker once asked her to “rehearse a kissing scene” in order to “let go off her inhibitions.” Shocked, the actress refused the offer, saying, "What? I am not doing any kissing scene as a rehearsal."
Zareen, who has appeared in films like Housefull 2, Hate Story 3 and Aksar 2, also shared another incident, which occurred when she was already an established actress. Someone from the industry had asked if she was interested in “being more than friends“ and told her that if she agreed to the offer he would “specifically look into the projects” she was getting.
Zareen Khan has also been vocal about her weight loss struggles and has been dealing with cyber-bullies who have body shamed her on different occasions. Recently, the 32-year old actress posted a picture on Instagram which showed stretch marks on her stomach. In response to criticism and attacks by social media trolls, the actress said, "For people who are very curious to know about what's wrong with my stomach, this is the natural stomach of a person who's lost more than 50 Kg of weight. This is how it looks when it is not photoshopped or surgically corrected. I've always been someone who believes in being real and embraced my imperfections with pride rather than covering it up." Her response was appreciated by fans and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who wrote, “"Zareen, you are beautiful and brave and strong and perfect just the way you are."
