It is a tradition in India for women to use their husband’s names after marriage although it’s not necessary. While Sonam K Ahuja (Earlier Sonam Kapoor) opted to use her husband’s surname at celebrity Astro-Numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani’s guidance, Preity G Zinta also added her husband, Gene Goodenough’s initial ‘G’ on his suggestion.

According to a report on peepingmoon.com, celebrity astro-numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani stated that the newlywed Deepika Padukone’s name adds to a readymade number ‘1’ (Sun) that stands for Leadership. Adding an ‘R’, ‘Ranveer’ or ‘Singh’ to her name would distort the numerical vibrations.

She is already blessed with a well-crafted name and hence does not need to alter her name. Therefore, Sanjay B Jumaani recommends her to stick to the original name ‘Deepika Padukone’ so as to rise and shine like the Sun she’s governed by!

The two got hitched around 7 AM at Lake Como, Italy on November 14 and will be having a Sindhi style wedding today at the same venue. The couple will soon return to Mumbai to host a reception in Bengaluru where they will reportedly make their first appearance as husband and wife. The reception will be followed by another one in Mumbai where the media and industry friends are invited. Ranveer and Deepika have requested guests to not get any gifts for them but if they really wish to do something, they have asked to donate to Deepika’s very own foundation.
