It is a well-known fact that Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor aren’t really close. The common factor of Katrina Kaif (Salman used to allegedly date Katrina before she started dating Ranbir) was just one of the reasons. While Salman has done films with Rishi Kapoor in the past, he is not known to share any bond with Ranbir.
Recently, the hostility between the two stars came out in the open. Ranbir likes to simply avoid any contact or make any mention of Salman but the Race 3 star leaves no opportunity missed to take potshot. A few days ago, Salman was asked at an event who the right fit for Sanjay Dutt’s role in Raj Kumar Hirani’s upcoming biopic Sanju was. Salman had a strange answer. He said Sanjay himself was the right person to play the role especially the last 10 years of this life as shown in the film. He said, “For Sanju, I was thinking why is somebody else playing this bit? The last 8-10 years. You cannot do justice to that. Sanju should have played the last bit.”
The logic is definitely strange considering it would be odd (to put it mildly) for an actor to play himself in a film based on his own life! Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it? But that was Salman’s view. Of course, his opinion is diametrically opposite the near unanimous view that Ranbir has excelled in bringing Sanjay Dutt’s life to the screen. From the look to the accent to the voice, Ranbir’s portrayal, as seen in the trailers, has been much appreciated. (Read the review of the Sanju trailer here). Salman is known to have a close relationship with Sanjay Dutt and it’s said that Jim Sarbh’s character in the film is based on Salman. So what is the reason why Salman can’t find anything good to say about Ranbir?
A close friend of Salman says, “Katrina walked away from Salman for a relationship with Ranbir. Salman never forgets.” True?
