Why Did Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal Say ‘No’ to This Film?
Despite the script allegedly being one of the best, Saare Jahan Se Accha has passed on from one actor to another
Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and now Ranbir Kapoor – four A-list movie stars have been considered for what seems like, one of the most jinxed movie projects in recent times – Saare Jahan Se Accha, a biopic on the life of the first Indian in space. The latest on the film is that now Ranbir Kapoor is the frontrunner.
The script of Saare Jahan Se Accha is widely being regarded as a one of the best untold stories in Indian cinema. Yet one after another, actors are walking away from it. The film first went to Aamir Khan who said that he immensely liked the script but he was busy with his upcoming project.
Then the film landed in the lap of Shah Rukh Khan. He too liked the script very much but the failure of his film Zero changed everything. After Zero flopped, Shah Rukh was no more interested in doing a space drama again.
It was then reported that the film has been passed onto Vicky Kaushal who too apparently liked the script very much and gave his nod. But sadly he too got caught up with Udham Singh and passed on the film.
Now the baton has landed up in the hands of Ranbir Kapoor. Apparently, the producers are now insistent on Ranbir Kapoor doing the film and they are also ready to pay his ongoing market price. The problem: Ranbir hasn't said yes to the project yet. According to sources, Ranbir is carefully weighing his options right now and he hasn't signed on the dotted line yet.
The representatives of Ranbir Kapoor hasn't confirmed anything yet.
The question is, if Ranbir too says 'no' to the project then who comes in next?
Will it be a jinxed project or will it finally get made?
