If one were to think that newbie actress and debutante Sanah Kapoor had it coming her way all easy, they had better think once again. Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor's half-sister and daughter of veteran actors Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak not only bagged the role in Shaandaar on her own steam but she didn't even tell the family that she had auditioned for the role!
Sanah Kapur plays Alia Bhatt's sister in the film which also stars her brother Shahid and dad Pankaj Kapur. While critics may infer that it was a comfortable setting for her, Sanah points out it was a daunting task to share the screen with her more experienced family members! She says, "While I loved shooting for the film, I think the scariest part was when I found out that dad was also going to be part of the movie."
Sanah admits in the report published in hindustantimes.com that bagging the role was an ecstatic moment for her, she says, "One of the best moments for me after becoming a part of the project was coming home and telling mom, dad and Shahid bhaiya about getting selected. They didn’t even know I had auditioned. The surprise and pride on their faces was priceless." The film is directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame.
Born with the right genes, Sanah says that acting has always been her interest and she's been working for a while on making that interest into reality. “I am extremely grateful for the break I have got. I knew that I wanted to become an actor since childhood and trained myself to become one,” she says.
