Who Is Queen Elizabeth’s Favourite Grandchild?

Queen Elizabeth got married to Prince Phillip on June 10th, 1991. Together they have four children and eight grandchildren, some of whom are also married now.

Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning monarch in the history of Britain. She has ruled Britain for over 67 years now and is still keeping strong. The 93-year-old queen is an extremely hardworking lady who was made the queen at a young age of 27 after the sudden death of her father King George V. They first met when she was still a princess and only 13 years old. In those days, the royal marriages were mostly arranged but young Elizabeth had set her eyes on the handsome naval officer Phillip. Her father King George VI allowed her to announce the engagement in 1946. The couple got married the next year in a royal wedding ceremony.

Despite being the strongest woman in the country, Queen Elizabeth gave birth to four children (the elder two were born while she was still a princess.) Her children Princess Anne, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew , and Prince Edward not only consider Queen Elizabeth their mother but also a supreme commander. Through marriage, many new additions were made to the family. This is also an unfortunate coincidence that her elder three children did not have successful first marriages. Three divorces in a row gave a major setback to the Queen.

It is only Prince Edward whose marriage has stood the test of time. The couple got married in June 1999. The new bride Sophie instantly caught everyone’s attention because of her resemblance with the late Princess Diana. Initially a PR consultant, Sophie is now a full time royal.

Sophie the countess of Wessex is Queen Elizabeth’s favorite and often accompanies her in the Rolls Royce when she leaves for her weekly church services from Sandringham. It is a huge privilege that only the closest members of the family acquire.

Queen likes to spend her time at Sandringham Estate and is often visited by family members. If Sophie Wessex is visiting, Queen usually asks her the night before if she would like to accompany her. Needless to say, it is always a yes from her side. The Queen likes to be calm before going to the church and believes that Sophie’s presence brings that calmness to her. The bond that Queen Elizabeth shares with Sophie Wessex has not been the case with Diana, Sarah Ferguson, and Camilla. Even Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have not been this close to the Queen.

The Queen also likes Sophie Wessex because hers is the only marriage that survived despite all odds. While rest of the royal marriages of Queen Elizabeth’s children failed, Sophie and Edward kept going strong. She believes the credit for this goes to her daughter-in-law. Sophie Wessex also had the privilege of moving with Prince Edward before they got married. Diana and Sarah Ferguson were not allowed so. The Queen is also fond of Sophie’s daughter Lady Louise who loves sketching and lent a helping hand by looking after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children. She also helped Charlotte in drawing pictures of rabbits and deers.
