Who remembers the time Deepika Padukone & Sonam Kapoor dared to ridicule Ranbir Kapoor on Karan Johar’s popular show Koffee with Karan? Well, dad Rishi Kapoor was quite angry back then, but this time around he seems to be more chilled out about the digs Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh took at his son at IIFA. 'It’s alright, yaar. It is okay to run down anyone for a few laughs in this industry,” said Rishi.
Recently actors Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor spared no one on the night of the annual award ceremony of Bollywood. In case you don’t remember, the duo had the whole crowd LOLing as they apologised for their own movie Gunday and took potshots at Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma for their recent release, Bombay Velvet. They even mocked the previous AIB roast scandal that had attracted much hype already. Everyone especially cracked up about how Ranbir Kapoor’s character in the film should have been called roti opposite Anushka’s ‘Rosie’ as they managed to take the ‘rosie-roti’ away from Anurag Kashyap’s pocket.
Rishi Kapoor, along with the rest of us, thinks that this will be a push in the right direction for the young star. “Ranbir is going through that phase in his career when he is facing flak for his choice of films, and rightly so. He has made some mistakes. He will emerge a stronger, wiser and more learned actor after his suicidal career decisions. All actors go through lean phases. It’s part and parcel of growing as an actor,” Rishi was quoted as saying. That said, we certainly hope Ranbir took the comments with the same positivity and light heartedness.
