Watch: Sheikh Hamdan Tours Dubai’s Museum of the Future, Approves Three-Year Strategic Plan for DFF

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan led a meeting at the AED 500 million facility and said the museum would 'open up a window to tomorrow'

The Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed visited Dubai’s Museum of the Future on Sunday, 19th January. The museum, being built with an investment of AED 500 million, will be opened to the public this year and is a highly-anticipated attraction in the emirate. It will have a research centre comprising classooms and labs, and will provide space to visitors to witness new technologies. Earlier, the museum was scheduled to open in 2017 but this was delayed to 2020. Sheikh Hamdan conducted a tour of the site, which is now nearing completion, and said it would  'open up a window to tomorrow' while becoming a major tourist attraction. 

He also chaired the board of trustees’ meeting of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) at the venue. Several senior UAE Cabinet members, including Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Al Olama, Minister of Community Development, Hessa Buhumaid and Minister of State for Advanced Sciences, Sarah Al Amiri, were present on the occasion.

The Dubai Future Foundation was established to help design strategies for Dubai to continue playing a prominent role at the regional and international level. During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan approved a three-year strategic plan for the foundation. He said developing human capital was at the core of the development model followed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

He said, "We want Dubai Future Foundation to become a global platform for spreading knowledge, leading research efforts and continue playing its role as a think-tank that supports decision making in our futuristic government."

"Over the next phase, we will double our efforts to achieve the vision of Sheikh Mohammed as declared in the 4th of January 2020 Document and this vision will be the guideline for Dubai Future Foundation over the next phase," Sheikh Hamdan added.
