“Open, now that’s a word that hasn’t been used much in the world these days, huh?” the video begins. “Well, open is looking good for Dubai right now, and we want to tell the world about it.”
The video, created by Emirates and Dubai Tourism has shots of the city’s most popular tourist attractions that have now opened their doors once again following the coronavirus pandemic. With video footage sweeping over the Burj Khalifa, the voicer over says, “Oh, and the world’s tallest building? That’s open, too.” The video concludes: “This city has its arms wide open, and they are open for you."
The video follows last night’s announcement that international tourists will be able to fly into Dubai from July 7th following safety guidelines. These include downloading the Covid-19 DXB app, filling in the health declaration form and having health insurance. They must also have had a PCR Covid-19 test four or less days before arrival. Upon arrival tourists will need to show proof of not being infected with the virus, if they cannot, they must undergo another PCR test at the airport.
