War Box Office Collection Day 5: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s Film Expected to Reach INR 200 Crore

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War, directed by Siddharth Anand, has collected approximately INR 158 crore within five days of its release

Siddharth Anand directorial War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in lead roles, released on 2nd October and has achieved phenomenal success since its opening day. It earned INR 51.6 crore on the first day (for the Hindi version alone) and became the biggest opener of the year. The film then entered the INR 100 crore club within three days and is now fast racing towards INR 200 crore. The film experienced growth at the box office on Saturday and Sunday, earning approximately INR 36 crore on the fifth day, bringing the total collections to around INR 158 crore.

The action film initially released on 4,000 screens across India but saw the addition of around 200 screens, following the audience’s overwhelming response. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, reporting on War’s benchmarks, said, “#War benchmarks... Fifth #YRF film to cross ₹ 100 cr in 3 days, after #Dhoom3, #Sultan, #TZH and #TOH. #Highest grossing *first 3 days* for #HrithikRoshan, #TigerShroff and director #SiddharthAnand. #India biz.”

He also compared its performance to Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s blockbuster Bharat, writing, ”#Bharat - released on Wed [#Eid] - hit ₹ 150 cr in its 5-day *extended* weekend... The #SalmanKhan film got the additional push due to #Eid festivities in its opening days... #War is expected to surpass 5-day *extended* weekend of #Bharat by a margin, despite lower screen count.” To celebrate the film’s success, the makers organised a success party at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, where Hrithik and Tiger, along with their co-star Vaani Kapoor and director Siddharth Anand, were present. In the film, Tiger plays Indian agent Khalid who has to hunt down his former mentor, a soldier gone rogue, Kabir (Hrithik). Their action sequences, shot in several countries and choreographed by international stunt directors, have managed to win over many fans and the film is expected to continue performing well at the box office during the week.
