War Box Office Collection Day 19: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's Film Earns More than INR 300 Crore

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s action flick War has managed to earn more than INR 300 crore by the 19th day of its release. The Siddharth Anand directorial, which released on 2nd October 2019, has surpassed blockbuster films like Shahid Kapoor’s 2019 film Kabir Singh, Ranveer Singh’s 2018 film Padmaavat and Salman Khan’s 2016 film Sultan. It has earned approximately INR 304 crore and become the sixth highest Hindi grosser, after films like Baahubali 2, Dangal, Sanju, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The film -- released alongside Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Hollywood film Joker -- benefited greatly by its release on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday and enjoyed an extended weekend. It earned INR 53.35 on its opening day alone and entered the INR 100 crore club within three days. Another reason for its massive earnings was the festival season in India, with Navratri and Dussehra taking place in the month of October. The action drama collected INR 200 crore by the seventh day of its release and has managed to break many records at the box office.
War -- which has become a favourite film for action lovers due to is visually appealing and intense action sequences -- was released on more than 4000 screens in India and on 1350 screens overseas. It has done well in the international markets as well. It earned INR 4.28 lakhs from 14 screens in Australia and INR 2.48 lakhs from 13 screens in New Zealand. The film has faced no competition from the other releases in October, such as Priyanka Chopra’s The Sky Is Pink. It is expected to continue doing great business till the high-anticipated Diwali releases this Friday (25th October), including Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4, Rajkummar Rao’s Made in China and Saand Ki Aankh starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.
