Off late there has been news that certain B-town parents are not too happy with their little ones joining the industry. In an interview with DNA newspaper, Sridevi spoke openly about how she was not too happy about Jhanvi making her Bollywood debut. She expressed her discomfort saying, “As a parent, one is naturally protective of their children and you are literally exposing them to the world.”
Finding himself in a similar situation to Sridevi is Saif Ali Khan. Considering Sara is also soon to make her debut, in Kedarnath, the doting daddy spoke openly about his fears in an interview with DNA newspaper. He was quoted saying, “Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York, rather than do this? I am not looking down on acting, it’s just it is not the most stable profession.”
His statement on acting being an unstable profession was blown out of proportion, with people taking about how he was uncomfortable with Sara’s decision. It didn’t end here!
Besides getting people talking, Saif’s statement also irked ex-wife Amrita Singh, who has been the driving force behind Sara’s debut, accompanying her meetings and guiding her along the way. A source revealed to DNA, that the comment didn’t go down well with Amrita. He said, “She told him it was an irresponsible thing to say considering Sara is about to embark on a film career.” He also further revealed, “Saif didn’t want to be dragged into an argument, so he mumbled that he was ‘quoted out of context’ and calmed down his former wife.” Ouch!
Following the showdown, Saif, at the IIFA press conference, cleared the air about his comments. He explained, “I love my daughter, support her and I think her choice is great. Of course, she is an actress, she belongs to a family of artistes, which is great, but I am still a little concerned for her as it is an unsure profession. Because I love her, I worry for her. That’s all I am saying. Is that clear? People write things like, ‘He doesn’t know what he is saying. He doesn’t know his mind.’ I find that annoying.”
As they say, at the end of the day- all’s well that ends well! Sara is all ready to debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Kedarnath, whereas Jhanvi is said to have already given her first look test for the remake of Fault in Our Stars, where she is said to star opposite Ishaan Khattar.
