The rush to sign on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma hasn't shown any signs of withering down even though they are one of the priciest Bollywood couples in the advertising world. Interestingly, according to sources, all the apparel and the skincare (haircare included) are after them for signing them up as brand ambassadors.
After Manyavar, the latest brand to sign them on the dotted line is Myntra. According to a report in Mint, the platform declined to reveal the brand deal size or period of association. According to celebrity management sector estimates obtained by the paper, Myntra may be shelling out upwards of ₹10 crore for the couple as brand endorsement fee.
This is one of the biggest couple single endorsement deals in India.
Mint conformed that this is would be the couple’s second big brand endorsement deal after men’s ethnic wear brand Manyavar, which they have been associated with since 2017.
“The association of Bollywood and sports with fashion needs no introduction and hence having Virat and Anushka as the face of this new campaign will enable us to build strong brand salience and establish the joy and convenience of shopping on Myntra," said Amar Nagaram, head, Myntra-Jabong.
So get ready for another set of advertisements featuring Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma on the internet and on your television sets.
And that reminds us, what happens to the other celebrity couple – Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone? Deepika recently was signed on for a brand along with her former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
