Vijay Deverakonda’s latest flick “Dear Comrade” has become the target of piracy after the infamous online site Tamilrockers leaked the film within mere hours of its release in cinemas. The Telegu-language film had been highly anticipated by Tollywood fans prior to its cinematic release and is currently receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. But, unfortunately for the team behind “Dear Comrade”, the film has now been leaked online for free downloading and streaming by the notorious piracy site Tamilrockers.
News reports of the entirely of the film being made available on the site emerged merely hours after “Dear Comrade” already hit theatres this past weekend. This isn’t the first time that Tamilrockers has leaked a film soon after it had released. The site recently targeted Indian box office hits such as “Kabir Singh”, “Super 30”, “Gorilla”, “Aadai” and much more. It has even leaked Hollywood films in the past, with the latest leak being the Disney live-action remake of “The Lion King.” There are no reports yet on whether the “Dear Comrade” team will pursue legal action against the piracy site or not.
“Dear Comrade” is a romantic drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Vijay plays the character of a student leader while Rashmika portrays a cricketer. Vijay has recently been enjoying renewed interest in his lauded performance for the Tollywood hit “Arjun Reddy” after the recent release of its Hindi remake “Kabir Singh”, starring Shahid Kapoor. In fact, the success of the Hindi remake has led to filmmaker Karan Johar announcing his plans of remaking “Dear Comrade” in Hindi as well. No further news on the cast has been revealed yet, with some rumours spreading that Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter will reprise their onscreen chemistry for the remake. However Karan had recently shut those rumours down.
