Veteran actor Kader Khan's health condition -- who was admitted into a hospital in Canada following intense breathing trouble -- is now being termed as "very serious".
He has been put on the ventilator and is being monitored round-the-clock.
With several ailments affecting his memory, speech and moving abilities, Kader Khan has been living with his son and daughter-in-law in Canada for the last few years.
It is learnt that the actor has been put on a ventilator after he had trouble breathing. While Khan is conscious and is able to maintain eye contact, he has stopped talking. He also has symptoms of pneumonia.
Khan suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. He also underwent surgeries in his knees in 2017.
Amitabh Bachchan prayed for the veteran actor's well-being and recovery on Friday.
"Kader Khan, actor-writer of immense talent, lies ill in hospital. Prayers and duas for his well-being and recovery. Saw him perform on stage, welcomed him and his prolific writing for my films, great company, a Libran and may not know, taught Mathematics," Bachchan wrote.
