Veeru Devgn's Funeral [Video]: Ajay Devgn Light the Pyre to Bid Final Goodbye

Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgn's funeral saw many celebrities from the Bollywood industry come out to pay their last respects to the action director. Ajay Devgn was with him on the journey to the crematorium

Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgn breathed his last on May 27 in Mumbai, breaking the hearts of his family and friends. Bollywood celebrities flocked to the residence of his son Ajay Devgn, as they tried to grips with the sudden death of the renowned action choreographer in Bollywood, who had ruled over hearts and Bollywood for decades. Veeru’s body has begun its final journey and Ajay can be seen carrying the body to the funeral.

All of Bollywood, turned up at Ajay Devgn’s residence to attend his father Veeru’s funeral to pay their last respects to the genius action director. Among the attendees so far are Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and more.

The stunts director, who has been a part of several hit movies, passed away this afternoon in Mumbai. Trade analyst took to his Twitter handle to break the news and reveal details about the funeral. He tweeted that Veeru passed away this morning, May 27 and the funeral took place at 6 PM in Mumbai’s Vile Parle West crematorium.

"Veeru Devgan passed away this morning 27 May 2019... Father of Ajay Devgn... Veeru ji was an accomplished action director... Also directed #HindustanKiKasam, starring son Ajay with Amitabh Bachchan... Funeral will be held today at 6 pm... Heartfelt condolences to Devgn family," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

The cause of death is still unknown and more details are awaited.

Veeru Devgan even appeared as an actor in Kranti, Sourabh and Singhasan. The stunt director and filmmaker has worked with several renowned actors including Amitabh Bachchan. While he had choreographed stunts for 150 movies, he made his directorial debut in 1999 with his son, Ajay, in the movie Hindustan Ki Kasam. The movie featured Amitabh, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen as well. May his soul rest in peace.
