Varun Dhawan’s Dream of Playing the Character of an Indian Soldier Comes True

Varun Dhawan, the son of the famous Bollywood director David Dhawan, will now be seen playing the role of an Indian soldier in a biopic

Varun Dhawan made his debut in Karan Johar’s film Student of the Year with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra. Today he is one of the highest-paid actors in the film industry and has also been featured in Forbes since 2011.  However, all this did not come easily to him. Varun Dhawan is the son of the famous film director David Dhawan but he was against cushioning his son when he started his film career. He is currently shooting Coolie No. 1 with Sara Ali Khan under the direction of his father David Dhawan. His upcoming film Street Dancer 3D, directed by Remo D’Souza is one of the most anticipated film of the year.

Varun Dhawan recently took his Instagram account to announce his upcoming film which is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. An emotionally charged Varun Dhawan could not help hiding his happiness and enthusiasm for portraying the role of a soldier.

He penned down a heartfelt note wishing birthday to the soldier and announcing the film.

‘Happy birthday 2/It #ARUNKHETRAPAL. It’s always been my dream to play a solider of INDIA. This is my most important film . Can’t wait to be directed by the mad genius sriram Raghavan one more time to bring to big screen the life of 2/It #ARUNKHETARPAL. Cant wait to begin working with dino vision my producer who always has a vision but this time with emmotion. Hope to make you proud #mukeshkhetarpal and #poonahorse. JAI HIND. Thank you to my fans and hope i don’t let you down.’

Varun Dhawan was born on April 24th, 1987 to David Dhawan and wife Karuna Dhawan. He comes from a film family with his father and brother being film directors. However, his father David Dhawan wanted him to complete his education before deciding anything for his life. David Dhawan has a degree in Business Management from Nottingham Trent University. Very few people know that he also worked as an assistant director at Shah Rukh Khan’s film My Name Is Khan.
