Ushna Shah receives flak for sexist comments to her pizza delivery guy

Ushna Shah, in a series of tweets, shared how she had to threaten a man's masculinity to get him to come inside to drop her pizza

Ushna Shah came irked many with some tweets last night, when she ordered pizza around 2:30 in the morning. The actress caused quite a controversy on a late Sunday night when she ordered pizza and asked the delivery boy to come inside as she held her pup. She further added she asked the boy, who was frightened of her pet, to not be scared as the dog won't hurt him, Ushna further explained till she had to threaten his masculinity with sexist comments, the delivery boy wouldn't budge.

Taking to Twitter, the Balaa actor shared, "Marrd banein”, “aap ek chaar saal ki bachi nahee hein”, “mardaangi peida Karein” - some of the sexist and demeaning things I said to my 2:30am pizza delivery guy to convince him to bring pizza inside as I held my barking and growling Pitbull back."

She further added, "Little did he know if he had simply come in calmly and had I let her go she would have just sniffed him and given him kisses."

Ushna's tweets caused quite a backlash, with people asking if she meant to apologise somewhere as well.

"Is she stupid or just trying to be funny? I think she is stupid. She humiliated a pizza delivery guy by sexist remarks. And has the audacity to brag about it. Definitely she is stupid," a user wrote.

"Insaan bannain" "Aap nay delivery boy ko khareed nahin liya" "Insaniyat paida karrain." Some of the things people should say, as they read in horror what a poor delivery man was subjected to by a spoilt brat," said another one.

Other than these, many came forward and slammed the actress.

To the backlash, Ushna responded, "To everybody crying about my rant to the pizza guy. I was holding the dog. He refused to come in. The first ten minutes of “mera waada hei kuch nahi Hota”, “meina pakra hua hei issey please guzar jayein” “bahadur baneyin Shahbash” didn’t work."

"None of that encouragement worked. But as soon as his masculinity was challenged my pizza was inside. Says more about society then it does me," she added.

Ushna definitely could have chose better words to convey her message. If anything, she shouldn't have defended her statement.
