UAE to Set Up Drive-Through COVID-19 Test Centres Throughout the Country
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed to set up COVID-19 test centres all over UAE.
The UAE Government will be setting up many mobile test centres to facilitate and speed up the process of testing and screening for COVID-19. This decision has been taken on the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. These test centres will be drive through in order to minimize the physical contact and will be set up by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. The first test centre was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday.

Over the next 10 days, test centres will open in Dubai, Sharjah (to also serve Ajman and Umm al Quwain), Ras Al Khaimah, Al Fujairah, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, to provide rapid-response tests for citizens and residents across the UAE using the latest medical technology.— مكتب أبوظبي الإعلامي (@admediaoffice) March 29, 2020

The expansion reflects the leadership’s commitment to providing all citizens and residents with the facilities needed to combat COVID-19 and curb its spread.
These test centres will be set up in Dubai, Sharjah (it will also facilitate people from Ajman And Umm Al Quwain), Ras-al-Khaima, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al-Ain and Al Dhafra to provide the residents with the much-needed testing facility.
The first test centre set up in Abu Dhabi by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company-SEHA, in coordination with the Department of Health -Abu Dhabi is the fifth of its kind in the world.
So far, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has conducted over 220,000 COVID-19 tests across the country. This implies that the UAE’s testing density is second highest in the world.
According to the World Health Organization WHO, the only way of battling the COVID-19 Outbreak is to test as many people as possible. Many asymptomatic people are the carriers of COVID-19 which is important to rule out to control the spread. Currently, UAE has taken all the possible steps to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak. From the National Sterilisation Programme to directing the maximum people to work from home, the measures taken by the UAE Government are considered among the most efficient and proactive around the world. The government has also imposed travel restrictions to and from UAE to prevent COVID-19’s further outbreak.
