This will also help the expats planning their holidays or trips to their home countries in advance.

The upcoming holidays for the year 2019 are The Prophet's Birthday (November 9 - Saturday), Commemoration Day (1 December - Sunday) and National Day(2-3 December - Monday, Tuesday).  While everyone knows well about the Prophet Mohammad’s birthday, Commemoration Day and National day are the days exclusive to UAE only. Commemoration Day is a tribute to the Emirati martyrs who laid their lives in UAE and abroad in the service of humanity, military, and civil sector. It was celebrated for the first time in 2015. National Day is about celebrating the union of seven emirates to for the United Arab Emirates. Ras Al Khaimah was the last state to join this union. People greatly look forward to the National Day because of the celebrations infusing the spirit of nationalism among the masses.

It will be a Saturday and can hence be clubbed with the public holiday on Friday. Commemoration day will be celebrated on December 1st 2019 combining with National Day which falls on December 2nd, and December 3rd. These three holidays are consecutive with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday being holidays. Coupled with Friday and Saturday, there would be five days off for people to plan their holidays and trips accordingly. December in UAE is one of the most pleasant months in terms of  weather hence five days of the holiday will guarantee ample opportunities for barbecue parties and picnics.
