Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans received another shocking news recently when Kush Shah, who portrayed the character Goli in the show, announced his departure from the show.
Kush Shah had been a part of the show for 16 years since he was a child.
The makers recently shared a video announcing the news and also introducing the new actor who will be seen playing Kush Shah’s role. In the video, Kush Shah is seen bidding farewell to the viewers and expressing gratitude for showering him with so much love.
Kush Shah quits as Goli from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
In the video shared by the makers on YouTube, one can see Kush Shah’s flashback moments as Goli on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah over the years. He is seen talking about his time on the show and how he started working on the show when he was just a kid. The video then shows happy Kush Shah dancing on the sets as a child, and playing with the other kids. It also features some other scenes from TMKOC from those years.
In the video, Kush Shah said, “When this show started when you and I first met, I was very young. You have given me a lot of love since then. And this family has given me as much love as you have given me. I have made a lot of memories here. I have enjoyed a lot here. I have spent my childhood here and most importantly I want to thank the creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Mr. Asit Kumar Modi for this journey. He trusted me so much, made my character so interesting and always inspired me. Because of his trust, Kush became Goli today.”
Kush Shah also thanked Asit Kumarr Modi for believing in him and motivating him. The cast is then seen surrounding Kush as he cuts his farewell cake and feeds it to his co-stars. Asit can be heard saying, “Goli ne apna pura bachpan Gokuldham society me bitaya hain. He has been consistent throughout. So, thank you Kush and all the best.”
Actors who have quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
Kush Shah’s departure adds to the multiple recent exits from the famous sitcom. Prior to Kush, the show has witnessed the following actors exiting the show:
Disha Vakani
Disha Vakani, popularly known for her portrayal of the female lead ‘Dayaben’ was the first popular face to leave Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah midway. Her exit led to many hearts being broken owing to her liking among her fans. Dayaben was one of the most loved characters in the show.
Bhavya Gandhi
Bhavya Gandhi rose to fame after playing one of the primary characters of Tapu aka Tipendra Jethalal Gada. Tapu was also one of the most popular characters in the show. Bhavya Ganghi gained immense applause and recognition for his character. He had been a part of the show ever since it launched in 2008. He exited the show in 2017 to explore new opportunities.
Raj Anadkat
After Bhavya Gandhi exited the show, Raj Anadkat was roped in to play the role of Tapu or Tipendra Jethalal Gada. Eventually, he was also well accepted by the audience who believed he did fair justice to the character. Raj joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2017 before quitting in 2022.
Shailesh Lodha
Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular role of Taarak Mehta in the show was also a prominent character. He quit the longest-running sitcom in 2022.
Neha Mehta
Neha Mehta played the role of Anjali Tarak Mehta, Taarak Mehta’s wife. Neha too had been a part of the show since its inception. However, she left the show midway in 2020, citing creative differences with the production house as the reason.
Jheel Mehta
Jheel Mehta portrayed the role of Sonalika Bhide (Sonu), the daughter of Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide and Madhavi Bhide. Jheel had been a part of the show from its launch and her acting prowess as a child artist was appreciated by the audience. She left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2012 after being a part of it for 4 years.
Nidhi Bhanushali
After Jheel Mehta’s departure, Nidhi Bhanushali was taken on board to play the role of Sonalika Bhide. She was well-accepted by the audience and was a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah from 2012 to 2019.
Gurucharan Singh
Gurucharan Singh essayed the role of Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi. He was a popular, lively and fun character in the show. He was known for his energetic personality and signature dialogue, “Usse toh main chhaddanga nahin” in Punjabi. Gurucharan Singh quit the show in 2020.
Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal
Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi, Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi’s wife in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She abruptly exited the show in March 2023 after being associated with the show for 15 years. However, after her exit, Jennifer revealed a shocking reason for her exit. She also made several allegations against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer Asit Modi.
