Tom Holland’s next film could be Captain Marvel 2 instead of Spider-Man, here’s why

Tom Holland could be next seen in Captain Marvel 2 opposite Brie Larson before he appears in his third Spider-Man film

Spider-Man: Far From Home seemed like Tom Holland’s last project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since the deal between Disney and Sony went dead, but the news that the web-slinging friendly neighbourhood superhero will be staying in the MCU was greatly welcomed by the fans of the franchise. Fans are still celebrating the fact that Disney and Sony reconsidered their agreement and cancelled its plans of taking Spider-Man back. Since now it is established that the New Yorker is here to stay in the MCU, the question being raised by a lot of fans is when will he make his next appearance, and more importantly where?

There are speculations that Spider-Man will be next seen in Captain Marvel 2, a highly anticipated second movie starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in the titular role.Earlier, there were reports that Spider-Man may be starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness - the sequel of the Sorcerer Supreme’s 2016 movie. The news held substance since everyone saw Spidey help Strange during Avengers: Infinity War. But the theory of Spidey slinging his way into Captain Marvel 2 seems more legit, according to a lot of reports.

The two characters, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man, come face to face for a short time during Avengers: Endgame, but some believe both characters are programmed to work well with each other. However, it is important to take the news of Spider-Man appearing in Captain Marvel 2 with a pinch of salt since the second movie of the franchise hasn’t been announced officially. Meanwhile, Spider-Man will be appearing in his third movie for sure. The movie hasn’t been given title yet but the deal between Disney and Sony, in which Holland himself intervened to make things better, shows that Disney wants to continue the Spider-Man franchise which has seen two movies presented to the audiences.
