Thalapathy Vijay finally breaks silence as 39 people die at his political rally in Karur: “Writing in unbearable pain and…”

Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay is one of the biggest stars and one of the most worshipped celebrities in the south of India. He’s worshipped as a demi-god. The actor will be seen in his last film that’s expected to release on Pongal 2026. But he has now immersed himself in his political responsibilities and arrived in the Municipality in Tamil Nadu, Karur, for his rally. Little did the actor and politician know it would end up in a stampede and at least 39 people losing their lives and severe injuries.

Thalapathy Vijay was being slammed for his silence but he has finally tweeted about the unexpected tragedy on social media, apologizing for the mishap.

He added, “I express my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of our dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Karur. I pray for a speedy recovery for those undergoing treatment in the hospital.”

Rajinikanth, Rahul Gandhi pay condolences too

Superstar Rajinikanth tweeted- “The news of the loss of innocent lives in Karur is heartbreaking and deeply painful. My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Condolences to the injured.”

Rahul Gandhi said, “Deeply saddened by the tragic incident at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, that has taken so many precious lives. My heart goes out to their loved ones, and I wish a swift recovery to all those injured.”

“I urge Congress workers and leaders to extend every possible support to the victims and their families, and to work closely with the authorities in relief and rescue efforts,” added the Congress head.

Amit Shah- “Deeply pained by the tragic loss of lives in a stampede in Karur, Tamil Nadu. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray to the Almighty to give them the strength to bear this grief and for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

The President of India had to say this- “Anguished to know about the tragic loss of lives in a stampede-like unfortunate incident in Karur district of Tamil Nadu. I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray for early recovery of those injured.”

The video of Thalapathy Vijay’s rally

Here’s the video of the actor’s rally in Karur that was reportedly attended by more than 3 lac people, before they went out of control.

A user shared another video on Vijay and said, “A true leader would have stayed there and followed the situation. This guy runs away to Chennai in a Chartered Flight. No answers to Press either.”

A user commented- “Going into a crowd just because your favorite celebrity or neta is coming is foolish, especially when it’s common knowledge that all rules are flouted while organizing such events. The celebrity wants to show strength by flexing the size of the crowd, so safety becomes secondary.”

The comment added, “And what’s the point? First, you won’t actually meet them; at best, you’ll catch a half-second glimpse from 50 feet away while being shoved around like cattle. Second, the celebrity doesn’t know you, won’t remember you, and definitely won’t thank you for the bruises you got trying to see them.”
