Three Looks To Sport This Wedding Season
Wedding season is upon and the weather turned. It’s the time of year when you’ll be deciding what outfits to wear for all those weddings and we’re here to be your saving grace
Wedding season is upon us and all the invites for this season’s festivities must be in by now. Whether you have friends getting married this season, or you’re going to be your bff’s bridesmaid or whether you are responsible for organizing your sister’s trousseau before her big day, you’re definitely going to need lots of fun and festive ensembles to take you through all the events. Whether you opt for traditional attire, or something with a little more edge, we’re here to give you all the inspiration you may need to get the ball rolling ahead of the festive season.
Preparations for the season are most likely underway; from your outfits, to getting your hair done, to matching your ensembles with the perfect accessories and so on. While some can handle the season with much ease, for others it can be a daunting task to decide what to wear and what look to opt for, for every event. And so, we bring you a quick guide on three different looks you could sport this wedding season.
Ananya Panday, the young entrant into Bollywood who was last seen on the big screen in Student of the Year 2 added some colour to our news feed this festive season. With neon still trending, Ananya Panday decided to jump on the neon bandwagon and opted for a full neon look and you could too. The young starlet wore a neon lengha choli by fashion house, Amit Aggarwal. While Ananya Panday sports a strapless choli, you could opt for something with sleeves or a less revealed neck. Pair with a matching lengha and dupatta, or opt for a contrasting colour to add a pop of alternative colour to your look. This will enable you to stay on trend with neon and adding a contrasting colour will add some oomph to the look. This is one look we can’t wait to recreate this wedding season.
2. The Unconventional Sari
Sonam Kapoor is the queen of adding a twist to any outfit and this is just one example. Sonam Kapoor recently spotted an Anamika Khanna sari with a Bohemian twist and fans went gaga over her look. The ensemble was a white sari draped to perfection and featured a thick border. What drew most of the focus to her look however, was the beautiful jacket she wore over her shoulders. The jacket was adorned with a print which was reminiscent of the Sindhi ajrak print and featured some bead and tassel detailing along the edges and on the neckline. You too can add a twist to your sari and add a matching embellished jacket over your sari. Team the outfit with a pair of khussas and you’ll be good to go!
3. The Traditional Sari
Not only do saris look elegant when worn, they also exude grace and add some femininity to one’s look. Earlier this year, Deepika Padukone shared pictures of herself clad in a gorgeous red sari by Indian couturier, Sabyasachi. The sari was beautifully handcrafted with old threadwork and a gorgeous border and the blouse featured a plunging neckline. If you’re opting for a traditional sari then be sure to keep your jewellery traditional. Opt for a pearl maala a la Deepika Padukone, or opt for dainty kundan jewellery or a choker to compliment your look. Saris always look best when they are teamed with a classic hairdo like a slicked back bun and dewy makeup. Overall, this look will go a long way this wedding season.
With these three looks at your fingertips, you can add your own twist to them. Pair your ensembles with heavier jewels if you want to make a statement or keep it simple if you plan to hit the dance floor!
