So it’s now official that ‘Stree’ is a blockbuster and is hurtling towards the INR 100 crore mark. The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer has won a lot of appreciation from fans as well as critics who have loved its quirky storyline and fantastic performances. However, while the actors including Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee, along with the leads, are rightly getting the credit, very few people know who played the central role – that of Stree, the ghost! Incidentally, the ‘chudail’ in the film is a very good actress who is well known in the circuit.
Her name is Flora Saini and she has worked with the likes of Rajinikanth, Vijaykanth, Prabhu, Karthik, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Jagapati Babu and Rajasekhar in over 50 films, mostly from Tollywood. Here's her picture:
This how she was made to look like the ghost in Stree. Look at her transformation with the help of VFX!
Flora Saini (also known by her screen name, Asha Saini) played the silent villainess in ‘Stree’ who torments the male population in the village by kidnapping them during four days of an annual festival. “I don’t think anyone of us thought that Stree would do this well maybe because it is a horror-comedy. It’s new and fresh. It is totally experimental but the kind of response we have got, I’m sure nobody was ready for it,” Flora, who is enjoying the attention coming her way, told IANS in an interview.
