Chaudhary was addressing the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan and said that PTI has sent out an invite to those who had relations with Imran in his previous profession. Along with cricketers the guest list also features a Bollywood superstar and the party was in touch with the Foreign department to make sure the formalities for the foreign dignitaries is taken care of.
As per a Tribune report among those invited are former Indian captains Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev as well as Navjot Singh Sidhu. The Bollywood name who might feature on the occasion is actor Amir Khan. A host of Indian cricketers had put out posts on social media to congratulate Imran on his achievement.
From the Indian side, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called Imran after his party emerged as the single largest after the poling to congratulate him, and the two talked about working together to improve the relations between the two countries. “India desires progressive relations with Pakistan”, the Indian PM was quoted as saying.
A number of Pakistani celebrities have already thrown their weight behind Imran Khan.
