It is always pleasurable to see Bollywood welcoming debutants and newbies to mix up the status quo and so fresh and vibrant faces can be seen on screen. This is especially exciting if the newcomers are the kids of Bollywood’s favourite celebrities. This year too, the industry is introducing terrific actors to the industry and to the world. Here is a look at all the newcomers Bollywood has recently seen and is set to see in the coming few months…
1. Ananya Pandey
Ananya Pandey’s launched her Bollywood career and made her debut with the second instalment of Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year 2’. She is the daughter of famous actor, Chunky Pandey and so it is evident that talent runs in the family! Student of the Year 2 follows Rohan, a college student who switches to a better university to rekindle his relationship with his childhood sweetheart who studies there. When Rohan is suspended, he returns to his old college and vows to lead his new team to victory in an inter-college cup against his former college, thereby becoming Student of the Year. The film was produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner Dharma Productions, and was distributed by Fox Star Studios.
2. Isabelle Kaif
Katrina Kaif’s sister, Isabelle is all set to launch her Bollywood career and create her movie industry debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi in ‘Time to Dance’. Isabelle has previously worked on a Canadian film called Dr. Cabbie. In Time to Dance however, she will be playing a Ballroom and Latin dancer whereas Sooraj portray a street dancer. Salman Khan also launched Isabelle’s career. He recently made an official announcement on social media about Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle Kaif’s Bollywood debut with his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma.
Aayush made his debut with ‘Loveyatri’ in 2019 and now he will romance Isabelle in his second film. Sharing a picture of Isabelle and Aayush, Salman wrote, “Isabelle Kaif and Aayush Sharma to star in a film inspired by true events involving the Indian army in Kwatha”. Confirming the same, director Karan Butani said, “We are excited to announce Aayush Sharma and Isabelle Kaif as the leads of Kwatha. Kwatha is a village on the border of India and Mynamar. While it is based on true events, the plot is unconventional, which made actors like Aayush and Isabelle perfect for a film like this,” he stated.
3. Ahan Shetty
Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty began his journey in Bollywood very recently when his debut film went on the floors in Mumbai. Ahan Shetty began shooting the yet-untitled project with a 'lot of drama', which is a remake of 2018 Telugu blockbuster RX 100, at a South Mumbai theatre. In a recent interview, director Milan Luthria explained that Ahan was to be briefly joined by his co-star Tara Sutaria for lunch, who will begin shooting later: "She will be present for lunch on the first day but isn't part of the shoot." Meanwhile, about Ahaan's character in the movie, the filmmaker said: "Ahan's character runs a movie theatre there (Mumbai). The scene with which the schedule is starting has a lot of drama.”
4. Karan Deol
Actor and politician Sunny Deol expresses that it is a very emotional moment for him to watch his son Karan gear up for his Bollywood debut. Sunny, son of veteran actor Dharmendra, entered Bollywood with ‘Betaab’ in 1983. Now, his son is all set to enter the Hindi industry with ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’.
The teaser of ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, which Sunny has directed, came out recently. “It is a very emotional moment for me to see my son Karan make his debut on the big screen,” Sunny said. “I hope the audience appreciates him and showers him with the same kind of love that they have given me for so many years,” added the proud and beaming father.
Set in Himachal Pradesh, ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ will tell a love story of two young people experiencing the emotion for the first time — with all its innocence, doubts and the complexities. Along with Karan, the film will introduce Sahher Bambba. The film is set to release in India on September 20.
5. Tara Sutaria
Tara Sutaria started her television career as a child artist in 2010 with Disney India's Big Bada Boom and went on to star in the sitcoms The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Oye Jassie. Sutaria made her film debut in 2019 with the teen drama Student of the Year 2. Sutaria was born into a Zoroastrian Parsi family in 1995 and has a twin sister named Pia. Both trained in a variety of dance genres including: classical ballet, modern dance and Latin American dances at the School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance, Royal Academy of Dance, United Kingdom and the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dancing, United Kingdom. She has been a professional singer since she was seven years old, having sung in operas and competitions since then. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Media from St. Andrew’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
These are exciting times for the world of Bollywood as there are many new faces that will be appearing on our screens. This will add to the abundance of talent that already exists in the industry making it an even more versatile industry that is continuing to grow year by year.
