The break-up of a friendship is always unpleasant. Unfortunately, when two friends have a fallout the impact will always be felt by other friends who are associated with both of them. Karan Johar and Kajol are a perfect example. The once-close friends had a huge problem last year after the Shivaay-Ae Dil Hai Mushkil controversy and Karan minced no words about it in his autobiography.
Unfortunately, it seems common friends have a price to pay because of this cold war. According to a report in a leading daily, at a party where Kajol attended with others like Niranjan Iyengar, Malaika Arora, Dia Mirza and her husband Sahil Sangha, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress completely snubbed Malaika who is known to be close to Karan.
A source has been quoted as saying, “Kajol who otherwise greets everyone, did not even extend a formal greeting to Malaika at the party." Could Karan be the reason? However this does not ring true as Kajol is still friendly with people like script writer Niranjan Iyengar who is equally close to KJo. Also, Kajol had once remarked that she would often miss greeting or meeting people at events which is often misconstrued as rudeness when the actual reason would be that she genuinely didn’t spot them.
Anyway, it looks like the problems between Karan and Kajol aren’t going to end anytime soon. In his book, An Unsuitable Boy, Karan had written , “I wouldn’t like to give a piece of myself to her (Kajol) at all because she’s killed every bit of emotion I had for her for twenty-five years."
But Kajol herself has been quite circumspect and has refused to comment on her fight with the filmmaker. She was quoted as saying, “I think that the best thing for me to do right now, as far as this entire topic is concerned, is to stay silent. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do. When and if I choose to give my opinion on this particular topic, I will make sure the world hears of it."
