The coronavirus pandemic has delayed some really exciting new releases
The coronavirus pandemic brought the Bollywood industry to a complete halt earlier this year. Many films had to halt mid-production, and others had to swap a traditional theatrical release for streaming platforms. As things slowly resume, and return to normal, we run through the top ten new Bollywood film releases that you don’t want to miss.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare
Release date: September 13, 2020
This satirical Indian comedy premiered on October 4th in 2019 after entering the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section "A Window on Asian Cinema".
It tells the story of two suburban Delhi girls called Dolly and Kajal who share a secret. The film features a predominantly female focused cast and production crew. It is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare will be released on Netflix.

Who doesn’t love a good spy thriller? London Confidential tells the story of undercover intelligence analysts who are based in London and discover that a China is plotting to spread a deadly virus along the Sino-Indian border. The film is directed by Kanwal Sethi and stars Mouni Roy and Puran Kohli.
London Confidential will premier on ZEE5.

Having had to postpone its release due to the coronavirus, Khaali Peeli’s new release has been announced for the first week of October. The romantic action film features the rising star Ishaan Khatter, alongside Ananya Pandey and Jaideep Ahlawat. Khatter and Pandey play the characters of two childhood sweethearts who get separated, but reunite as adults. Recently one of its new "item numbers" Beyonce Sharma Jayegi, courted controversy for its racist lyrics.
Khaali Peeli will be available to watch on Zee Plex and ZEE5.
K.G.F Chapter 2
Release date: October 23, 2020
The much awaited sequel to 2018’s K.G.F Chapter 1 is finally just around the corner. Watch Sanjay Dutt and Yash star yet another gripping tale of revenge, law and order in the epic directed by Prashanth Neel. When Sanjay Dutt was re-cast for K.G.F 2, Yash said, "Sanjay Dutt is a wonderful actor, and when elements like his physical appearance, image, legacy and, on top of it, the kind of role that KGF Chapter 2 has etched for him come together, it only adds value.". The sequel also stars Raveena Tandon in a major role. However, while filming, Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer and may fly to the US for treatment.
K.G.F Chapter 2's release may be postponed from its originally scheduled date of October 23.
The Big Bull
Release Date: October 23, 2020
Produced and starring Ajay Devgn, The Big Bull is a biographical crime film which tells the true story of a stockbroker named Harshad Mehta, played by Abhishek Bachchan. Bachchan will portray the 10 years in which Mehta committed his worst financial crimes, and will star alongside Nikita Dutta and Lleana D’Cruz.
Bachchan Jr said, “This is my second film with Ajay Devgn Films. They were the co-producers of Bol Bachchan. It’s always great working with them. I feel blessed that Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit considered me worthy enough to be a part of the movie. Whatever they offer me is always something special to me.”
The Big Bull will be released on Disney+ Hotstar.

Akshay Kumar takes on another action role in Sooryavanshi, which tells the original story and adventures of an anti terrorist department in India. Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar, Sooryavanshi is all geared up to be a box office.
Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Shetty's famous cop series that includes Singham, Singham 2 and Simmba
The movie was originally supposed to be release in March this year, however, was postponed because of the lockdown.
The statement read, "Sooryavanshi is an experience that we have created for you with over a year of dedication and hard work, and the response we received for its trailer was nothing less than electrifying and made it clear that this film truly belongs to its audience... We have been as excited as you are to present the film to you and your family, but due to the recent outburst of the COVID - 19 (Coronavirus), we, the makers, have decided to postpone the release of your film Sooryavanshi, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience... And therefore, Sooryavanshi will be back for you just when the time is right... After all, safety comes first... Until then, keep the excitement alive, take good care of yourself and stay strong... We shall pull through this... -Team SOORYAVANSHI."
Sooryavanshi will be released in cinemas on November 13th.

When Kangana Ranaut shared the poster for her upcoming film Dhaakad, fans expressed their excitement as they saw Ranaunt’s character standing in a burning scene armed with a gun and stern look on her face. It will also star Mimoh Chakraborty and Manoj Tiwari.
Dhaakad will hit the big screen on Diwali but might get postponed once again if the pandemic continues.

This historical action drama directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi tells the tale of Indian dynasties Chahamana Rajput and king Prithviraj Chauhan. Dwivedi has a reputation for making great historical epics, and is best known for directing the 1991 television hit, Chanakya. With Akshay Kumar playing the lead role and Manushi Chhillar playing his wife in her film debut, Prithviraj is a must see for fans of history and a big dramatic storyline.
Prithviraj is scheduled to release in theatres in India in time for Diwali.

This upcoming action fantasy is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the man behind the 2009 coming of age film Wake Up Sid. It tells the story of a young Telugu woman who runs away from home after falling in love with a man from Karnataka whom her parents don’t approve of.
It is produced by Karan Johar and comes with a star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. If all goes according to plan, Brahmāstra will be the first film of a planned trilogy. The release of Brahmastra has already been delayed several times and was initially scheduled to be release in February 2020. The team announced the ‘final’ release date of the film - December 4 after the pandemic hit but that is likely to be pushed yet again.

83 will tell the story of India's incredible Cricket World Cup victory in 1983. It will take audiences through every detail of India’s journey to their epic world cup victory, and is being rumoured to be one of the biggest Bollywood sports movies of all time. It stars Ranveer Singh alongside Deepika Padukone and Tahir Raj Bhasin. Singh is said to have spent 2 weeks with the Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev in order to further understand the game of cricket for his role.
83 will be released in the cinema on Christmas day (for now).
