Tabu has previously worked in another horror comedy film,  Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again. In that film, she played the character of Anna Mathew, a woman who can speak to ghosts. However, her character in Bhool Bhulaiya 2 is said to be ‘dramatically different’ from that role.

The sequel of Bhool Bhulaiya will also be diffferent from the original film, and not only in terms of the star cast. While the Akshay Kumar film was a psychological thriller, it’s sequel is said to be more of a horror comedy film. It will hit the screens on 31st July 2020.

Tabu will be joining the second three-month shooting schedule in January, with the shoot taking place in London and Rajasthan. In 2019, the talented actress appeared in Akiv Ali's romantic comedy film De De Pyaar De co-starring Ajay Devgn and Ali Abbas Zafar's thriller film Bharat, alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The actress was highly appreciated for her performance in Sriram Raghavan’s 2018 film AndhaDhun, in which she played the parallel lead - Simi, who is married to a former actor Pramod Sinha -- alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, who portrayed a blind pianist. A Times of India reviewer noted how the actress was ‘outstanding as always in a conflicted role’. Fans are now looking forward to Tabu’s performance alongside Kartik and Kiara.
