Veteran actor Tabu is one who cannot be forgotten. Every time she goes on a brief hiatus from work, she makes sure to make a thunderous return – case in point: the blockbuster hits of her last films Andhadhun and De De Pyaar De. Hence, while she may not be spotted at every other red carpet event, party or public gathering, she has managed to stay relevant courtesy her charming personality, tall physique and wise decisions. “I think pay demands of female actors are finally being met. I’m sure the makers of a film are smart enough to understand that if an actress is bringing them that kind of revenue and is pulling the crowd, they will definitely pay her accordingly. Actors are also intelligent – they know their position and demand accordingly,” Hindustan Times quoted her as saying.

Tabu added, “Negotiations are less hassle free and it’s become more clinical.” She continued, “The growth that I have seen in movies, and myself and that I’ve been able to apply to films is something that I am really happy about. To get the opportunities to grow with your work, and have your growth reflect in your work is an amazing thing.”

She feels she is at a fulfilling stage in her career. Speaking about why she has never spoken, let alone boasted about her Hollywood projects, The Namesake and Life of Pi, Tabu said, “I think I’ve been like this. I can’t find any reason why I’m like this. Mujhe itna shayad apne baare mein baat karna achha nahin lagta. I mean I do talk about my films when required, but can’t make it a 24 hour job. I do talk about my projects when I’m promoting them, or also when people are interested to know about the film or want hear what I’m saying.”
