Soon actress Taapsee Pannu - who has played the lead role in Thappad along with Pavali Gulati -- shared Dia’s post, adding her own message, “Some films will always have a piece of you left in them, forever.”
Taapsee, who was last seen on the silver screen in Akshay Kumar’s space film Mission Mangal, has previously worked with Anubhav in her 2018 film Mulk. Their new project Thappad revolves around the issue of gender equality in Indian society. The movie also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Tanvi Azmi and Ram Kapoor in vital roles. It is Anubhav Sinha’s 11th film, which he has dedicated to women. Shot in Delhi and Lucknow, the movie is slated to release on 6th March 2020, two days before International Women’s Day next year. Meanwhile, Taapsee will next be seen in biographical film Saand Ki Aankh, alongside Bhumi Pednekar, in which she essays the role of elderly sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar. Saand Ki Aankh, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, will be releasing on 25th October 2019, coinciding with the Diwali holidays.
