Hrithik Roshan’s latest flick, Super 30 — based on the real life story of educationalist and mathematician, Anand Kumar, from Bihar — has finally hit the screens. According to Box Office India, the movie had a “fair opening” on Friday morning, with an occupancy of around 20-25 percent, which is decent for this kind of biographical drama film. The film marks Hrithik’s comeback after nearly two years and its opening has been better than the actor’s last film Kaabil’s opening, which had clashed at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. Despite its depiction of small towns and underprivileged classes, Super 30 has had a better opening in the metros than the smaller towns.
The film’s collections are expected to improve in the evening, moving towards double digits, and it is likely to do well over the weekend, especially given the fact that India is no longer part of the Cricket World Cup finals, taking place this Sunday. So it will be a usual weekend at the cinemas. It remains to be seen how the movie will fare against the blockbusters Kabir Singh and Article 15, which are still doing great business.
Super 30 and Hrithik’s performance has been receiving some good reviews and appreciation from the film fraternity. Actress Kirti Sanon wrote on Twitter that Super 30 has “its heart in the right place” while director Farah Khan tweeted, “laughed, cried, clapped n got goosebumps.”

Trade analysts are predicting that Super 30 will do good business at the box office. Girish Johar, a film trade analyst, said, “Hrithik is coming after more than one and half years. Also, he is one of those superstars whose every film is eagerly awaited by fans. The trailer of the film has already made the right noise. Though it's not a typical song and dance commercial film that Hrithik does, we know now the audience is open to actors doing content-based films. The content-driven films are also going a long way at the box office. Super 30 surely looks like another winner from Hrithik."
