Bollywood rivalries are nothing new. Insecurity, jealousy, envy and competitive spirit are some of the feelings that kind of go with the territory of being a sought-after star. While these days, PR and managers make everything look like professional rivalry and a bit of healthy competition, the feeling between stars are pretty much the same as it was decades ago.
Archrivals of the '80s Sridevi and Jaya Prada were two actresses who apparently couldn’t see eye to eye. The two featured together in several films like Mawaali (1983) and Tohfa (1984) among others. Buzz is that while shooting for Maqsad (1984) co-stars Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra locked Jaya and Sri in the same make-up room, hoping that they would start talking, but their efforts proved futile.
But over three decades later, the South sirens finally patched up and let bygones be bygones as Sridevi surprised everyone as she was spotted with hubby Boney Kapoor attending the wedding reception of Jaya Prada’s nephew Siddharth in Hyderabad on Sunday, reported an article in Mid Day.
It will be interesting to watch the two ladies in a film together.
