The moment Sonam Kapoor’s wedding to Anand Ahuja was announced by the Kapoor family, we were all impatiently waiting to find out which designer would dress the fashionista for her special day. Considering Soanm is Bollywood’s biggest fashion diva, her wedding wardrobe was the talk of the town, and rightly so!

Needless to say, the diva looked sunning in all her outfits, making our jaws drop to the ground! From hues of white and gold to bold dark shades, there’s no element that Sonam didn’t incorporate in her wedding wardrobe. To break it down, here’s what she wore for each event:

Day 1- Mehendi/Sangeet

The theme for the event was ‘shades of white’ and Sonam made sure to lead the pack in a gorgeous Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla lehenga. Sonam reportedly team up with the designers two years in advance to create the elaborate outfit that took 18 long months and multiple artisans to execute the vision.

The heavily embellished outfit was full of mirror work, true to Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s signature style, with motifs created in chikankari. Who said dressing like a princes comes easy?

Day 2- Wedding

For her wedding ceremony that was held in accordance with Sikh rituals, Sonam choose a tomato red lehenga-choli by designer Anuradha Vakil, adorned with exquisite gold jewellery. Created using vintage textile, the lehenga had intricate gold embroidery, giving it a royal feel.

However, what completed the outfit was the jewellery. Sonam wore a traditional matapatta, along with other royal inspired jewellery, making her look every but the princess, that she is.

Day 3- Reception

Marking a culmination to the festivities, the grand wedding reception was indeed an affair to remember. The fashionista that she is, Sonam broke the mould of being traditional and wore a quirky grey lehenga, created by Anamika Khanna.

The diva made quite a statement in her outfit and was the talk of the town for her unusual, but stunning choice.
