Father-daughter duo Anil and Sonam Kapoor share one of the most beautiful relationships. From daddy’s little princess often approaching him for professional and personal advice to the veteran actor always looking out for his daughter, they serve major #familygoals. The Khoobsurat star is also considered to be her father’s goodluck charm as it was the time she was born that Anil started belting out one hit after another. Sonam, who will be essaying the Indian cricket team’s good luck charm in The Zoya Factor, was recently asked if she would like to star in a remake to any of her father’s old films. And her answer was what we all wanted to hear! She said yes!
When asked if she is open to doing remakes of her father’s iconic films, Sonam revealed she would love to play Mr India if the 1987 film is ever remade. “The film is very innocent. I thought everybody acted beautifully, and it was very relevant. The music was soothing and incredible. The film was perfect in every sphere. I don’t think there can be any individual who didn’t like the film. Everyone loves the film even today, when they watch it,” Sonam said.
The starlet added that she would play Mr India in the film. “I would like to play the character of Mr India if at all the film is made. In my opinion, why should only a man play the character of Mr India? Why can’t a woman don the character?” she inquired. Speaking about her aspirations to produce the remake, Sonam laughed off the possibility. “Produce Mr India? The rights are with Boney and Anil Kapoor. Do you think they will give me the rights of making that film?” she quipped. Anil starred with his sister-in-law and late legendary actor Sridevi in the classic.
