Sonakshi Sinha Gets Trolled Online for Failing to Answer Question on Kaun Banega Crorepati, See Her Response Below

Sonakshi Sinha, who was helping contestant Ruma Devi, was unable to answer a question on the Ramayana. Here’s how people reacted on social media.

Sonakshi Sinha is being trolled on social media, with many users posting comments using the hashtag #YoSonakshiSoDumb. The actress appeared in a special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Taking part in the show to help a contestant — Ruma Devi, popular traditional handicraft artisan and a social activist from Rajasthan — the Dabangg actress did not know the answer to the following question related to Ramayana, “Hanuman fetched Sanjeevani herb for whom?" She was given four options as answers:  Sugriva, Lakshman, Sita and Rama. Sonakshi was confused about the answer and opted to use a lifeline, which did not go down too well with the audience.

Netizens took to social media to compared Sonakshi to Alia Bhatt, who, in an episode of Koffee with Karan, had thought the Chief Minister of Maharashtra was the President of India. Here’s what some of them said:

Sanjay Singh (@sanjay_2044) wrote, “Let's welcome the new member of ‘Alia Academy'...#sonakshisinha #YoSonakshiSoDumb"

Abhishek Mishra (@Abhishe22039392) tweeted, “Her brothers Name is ‘LUV and KUSH’, Her Father name is ‘Shatrughan, her house name is ‘Ramayan’, and she still don't know about the Holy Ramayan.. Dumbest Ever Actress.. #sonakshisinha #YoSonakshiSoDumb.”

Mota Bhai (@Motabhai_MHA) said, “Trust me guys today I got to know #KBC an honest show. I always thought whenever a celebrity comes in KBC they gets all the answers before in hand.  Thanks a lot @sonakshisinha for clarifying my doubt. #KBC2019 #KBC11 #YoSonakshiSoDumb #SonakshiSinha."

Rajeev Ranjan (@Adv_RKRanjan) wrote, “Two professions where you can afford to be absolutely average - Politics & Bollywood. This is high time that we stop idealizing & giving unnecessary importance to these star kids and making them stars in no time. #sonakshisinha #YoSonakshiSoDumb"

Akhilesh (@iAmEarthSon) tweeted, “This shows how celebrities so disconnected with ground reality #YoSonakshiSoDumb stupid #sonakshisinha."

Dhana Kumar (@dhanakumarIndia) said, “Being celebrity, if @sonakshisinha doesn't know the famous incident of Ramayana (‘Hanuman fetched Sanjeevani for Laxman’), it means, she knows nothing about the ABCD of general knowledge. She should be awarded with ‘Dumb Award’ in the next IIFA. #sonakshisinha #YoSonakshiSoDumb."

Amit Bajaj (@amitdbajaj) wrote, This is so sad #YoSonakshiSoDumb ...Even my 4 yr old daughter knew the answer of this question..Then the dumbo actresses like such preaches hinduism on the festivals of Diwali, Holi and othe Hindu festival..!”

Sonakshi Sinha however took the memes and comments in good humour, tweeting, “Dear jaage hue trolls.I don't even remember the Pythagoras theorem,Merchant of Venice,Periodic Table,Chronology of the Mughal Dynasty, aur kya kya yaad nahi woh bhi yaad nahi. Agar aapke paas koi kaam nahi aur Itna time hai toh please yeh sab pe bhi memes banao na. I love memes.”

Fans of Sonakshi and others also rushed to her defense, saying that she did not need to be an expert on everything.

Abhishek Lodhi (@abhived_lodhi) wrote, “It's idiotic of people trolling #sonakshisinha for not knowing the answer as if they have PhD over everything!! She is an actress not a professor or any Wikipedia and even if she had been, it's OK to not to know answer of any ques. ( PS not @sonakshisinha fan).”

Another user, (Short Third Man) Elixir Of Azazel (@vyatikram188) hit back at trolls, saying, “People are trolling #sonakshisinha for not knowing Ramayana. You know what's more concerning? That our law makers do not know maths (2AB), physics (Einstein gravity) or biology ("Darwin was wrong, I never saw an ape turn into a man”)."
