Sidharth Malhotra Injures Himself While Biking in Kargil

Sidharth Malhotra who is in Kargil to shoot his upcoming film, injured himself while he was out biking

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra has been a part of various films ever since his debut in 2012 with Student of the Year. And while that Karan Johar directorial was a coming of age, romantic film, Sidharth seems to have also experimented quite a bit with action. He played an angry, young man in 2014’s Ek Villain and then fought with Akshay Kumar in Brothers – which makes it seem like he enjoys doing action films more. But action films come with a lot of risks, especially if you’re the one performing the stunts and not a body double, sometimes resulting in injuries – and this time around, the young star has hurt himself.

Sidharth had been in Kargil since August to shoot a 40-day schedule of his upcoming film, which is a biopic on Indian Captain Vikram Batra called SherShaah. While he has completed most of the shooting, he was recently met with an accident while riding a bike in the hilly area. A source close to the actor shared, “After the shoot, Sidharth and Shiv Pandit – his co-star – had ventured out for a ride when the latter lost his balance and slipped off his bike. Sid, who was right behind him, had to apply brakes due to which his bike skidded, resulting in hand and leg injuries.”

The good news, however, is that both the stars were wearing helmets and appropriate safety gear. They were soon taken to the hospital and sustained minor injuries. But being a dedicated star, Sidharth returned on set the next day as an important scene had to be shot, for which the set-up had already been put together. About his injury, Sidharth said, “Given the schedule and scale of the film, I didn’t have time to recover. Accidents like these happen and cause a bit of a lapse, but it could have been much worse. Hopefully in the next few days, I will be absolutely fine.”
