Sidharth Malhotra Finally Rubbishes Rumours Of Taking a Break From Bollywood
Sidharth Malhotra denied reports that he will be taking a sabbatical from work. He ruled out the possibly of a hiatus, announcing his upcoming project Marjaavaan
After actor Sidharth Malhotra’s past few films performed below par at the box office, rumour had it that the star will be taking a sabbatical from work and will not be signing any Bollywood projects for now. However, in a rather surprising turn of events, Sidharth ruled out the possibly of a hiatus in the near future, disclosing that he is currently busy with his forthcoming action drama Marjaavaan. "Every actor thinks about what he wants from a film before signing it. This film is an ode to all the heroes that I have seen in Hindi movies. I have always been inspired by the hero’s entry, action and stuff like, so with similar excitement, I started work on this film,” he said.
Sidharth was interacting at an event in Mumbai and was accompanied by co-actors Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh, besides the film's director Milap Zaveri. Producers Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani were also in attendance.
Hence, the reports that initially surfaced after his project Jabariya Jodi bombed at the box office turn out to be false news. Prior to this, his only release of 2018 Aiyaaria had also flopped. However, Sidharth is confident that such fate will not repeat itself with Marjaavaan. Also starring with Riteish seems to be in his favour and the two delivered a hit performance in 2014 with Ek Villain. Talking about the upcoming film, Sidharth said, "Milap (Zaveri) believes in the cinema that we all grew up watching, where a hero makes an amazing entry or does action and dialogue baazi. I personally grew up on cinema of this genre. I think for the first time I have got an opportunity to play a massy hero, so when I heard the narration of this film, I was very excited and inspired to do the role." Marjaavaan will release on November 8.
