News of Bollywood starlet Shraddha Kapoor tying the knot with her longtime rumoured beau Rohan Shreshtha became the talk of the talk this week, after a leading publication reported the same. Following suit, several other media outlets picked up the story too, adding marriage is on the cards for Shraddha. However, the actor remained mum on the issue and did not pay heed to the gossip mill. While she was quick to turn a deaf ear to the rumours, her father and actor Shakti Kapoor has come out to defend his daughter and rubbish rumours circulating around her alleged wedding next year.
"Really? My daughter is getting married? Please don't forget to invite me too, to the wedding!" said Shakti. "Let me know where the wedding is, I will be there. I am the father and yet I have no clue. So, please let me know," he sarcastically added. Shraddha and Rohan have been dating for over two years now, according to alleged reports.
“Shraddha has been linked to many actors in the past. Yeh film industry hai bhaiya, link karne se kuch nahi hota (This is the film industry. It doesn’t make a difference if you just link two people up with each other). Rohan’s father, Rakesh is a dear friend of mine. We all are family friends. My daughter tells me everything that is happening in her life. She will never marry without her parents’ consent,” continued Shakti. He remained confident about the fact that he and his wife Shivangi will be the first to know whenever Shraddha decides to settle down with Rohan. When Shakti was asked the same question last year, he said, “There is no truth to it. Shraddha has no plans of marrying anyone for the next four to five years. She has too much on her plate at the moment. All this is crap.” On multiple occasions, Shraddha has also opened up about focusing on building her career.
