Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has been churning out hits after hits lately. The actress marked her debut in 2010 with Teen Patti, but it was only Aashiqui 2 opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor that brought her to the forefront of Bollywood. Since then, she has starred in numerous big productions such as Baaghi, ABCD 2 and Stree amongst many others. While her 2018 film opposite Shahid Kapoor, Batti Gul Meter Chalu didn’t fare too well at the box office, the actress has had two back to back super hits this time around. Her latest films, Saaho and Chhichhore have managed to crunch big numbers at the box office ever since their release.
Speaking of her two hit films, Shraddha said, “I am on top of the world — both my films have been received so well and loved by the audiences. Saaho is my biggest grosser till date. I am cherishing every bit of it. I am super grateful and happy about both doing well.” She also shared that she was happy to play two roles in Chhichhore. “Nitesh Tiwari is an incredible director. He brought the Mayas, both, younger and older, on screen with sensitivity and love. I could connect with the emotions that she was feeling, the story and journey of the film. It came from the heart.”
While Sharaddha’s portrayal as the college student Maya was lauded by many, it was the older version of the character that critics felt could have been performed better. Responding to their comments, the starlet explained, “It’s amazing that audiences are the deciders of what content and film they like to watch. They are the ones who have the final say. I am grateful that they went and saw the film in such large numbers, and enjoyed it.” Riding on the success of her films, Shraddha is now looking forward to reunite with Varun Dhawan for the third installment of Anybody Can Dance which is set to hit screens early next year.
