In this fast-moving world, health has taken a back seat. Bollywood actor and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty strives to bring it to the forefront and spark a sorts of fitness revolution. Taking forward her famous philosophy ‘Swasth Raho Mast Raho’ (Stay Healthy, Stay Happy), she launches the Shilpa Shetty app, an app that is focused on holistic wellness. Well into her 40’s, with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, her fitness journey is one to be taken inspiration from.

Since she is an inspiration for all the women who want to remain fit like her, the actress has revealed her diet plan that gave her, her confidence back after pregnancy. She swears by everything Indian. Here she has decoded her diet plan.

Food Chart

Morning

She starts her day with Aloe Vera or Amla juice followed by porridge and tea with brown sugar.

Or

• A fruit smoothie and eggs.

• Whole wheat toast paneer burji or tofu.

Mid-Morning Snack

Papaya with dash of lemon or mixed fruits.

Lunch (her heaviest meal of the day)

Rice or two rotis (made of 5 different kinds of grains) with two teaspoons of ghee, vegetables, dal, fish (she has quit chicken due to the fear of the birds being fed with toxic antibiotics and steroids) or egg burji. She ends her meal with a piece of jiggery.

Evening

One slice of brown bread toast, one egg and green tea.

Or

A small bowl of air popped popcorns.

Dinner (by 8PM)

Salads, soup and chicken dish.

Or

Oats with vegetable curry.

Or

Turkey slice/salmon steak.

Workout Regimen

According to the fitness diva “yoga is the new way of life” so predominantly her workout routine consists of yoga. The Bollywood superstar performs Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation (Dhyan) for two days, strength training exercises for two days and one day for cardiovascular exercises. For rigorous workout, the glam like to perform heavy weight exercises to give her muscles a better shape.

Few Health Tips She Strongly Believes In

• She drinks warm water first thing in the morning.

• Eat good fats.

• Keep your diet low in sugar.

• No raw salads after 6pm.

• Clarified butter and coconut oil are her best friends.

It sounds like Shilpa Shetty follows a healthy approach to her overall diet but also works really hard to take care of her body.
