Shahid Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the finest actors in Bollywood – and also one with the most number of flops in his career. But that does not mean that his films have never done well. The actor has proved his craft with films such as Haider, Jab We Met and Padmaavat – even though he later revealed that he wasn’t given enough screen time as opposed to his co-stars, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Now, as Shahid gears up for his upcoming film, Kabir Singh, he looks back at some of the good and bad choices he made in the past.
Speaking to actress and TV show host, Neha Dhupia, Shahid revealed that he had turned down starring in Rang De Basanti. He said, “I was offered Siddharth’s role in Rang De Basanti but I had to turn it down. I regret not doing that film. I had cried while reading the script and I loved it. But unfortunately, I couldn’t make time for it.” The actor also shed some light on the film he wished he hadn’t done, which was Shaandaar opposite Alia Bhatt and some of his family members, namely his father, Pankaj Kapoor and sister, Sanah Kapoor. He confessed, “Even I was confused when I saw the film.” The film was not received well by audiences at all.
But that’s not all that Shahid revealed in the interview. He also candidly spoke about his exes, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra – both of whom are married. He revealed that he was invited to Priyanka’s wedding with Nick Jonas in December last year which he even attended along with wife, Mira Kapoor. When asked if he was invited to Kareena’s wedding with Saif Ali Khan back in 2012, he stated, “I don’t remember. It was a while ago. I don’t think I was invited.”
Shahid dated Kareena for about three years and their relationship was very public. The duo starred together in numerous films such as Fida, Chup Chup Ke, Milenge Milenge and Jab We Met. They last shared screen space in 2016’s Udta Punjab, along with Alia and Diljit Dosanjh. On the other hand, Priyanka also starred with Shahid in Teri Meri Kahaani, 36 China Town and Kaminey. However, they always kept their relationship under wraps. In 2015, Shahid married Mira in an intimate ceremony. The couple now has two beautiful children together, a daughter Misha and son, Zayn.
