The ‘nepotism’ debate hasn’t really died down in Bollywood. It rears its head each time a star kid makes his or her debut (as it happened during the release of Janhvi Kapoor’s film Dhadak last month). And now, it has been extended to magazine covers as well. Yes, this time the debate surrounding the 'N' word is the cover of a fashion magazine. Vogue India to be precise and the star daughter in question is Suhana Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan’s lovely daughter who has got a huge fan following of her own on social media is on the cover of fashion bible Vogue India, looking gorgeous and styled and photographed by the best in the business. The coverline reads: 'Student, Theatre Lover, Future Star'.
Suhana’s debut in Bollywood is a foregone conclusion and there is a huge amount of curiosity around her though Shah Rukh has repeatedly said that he would want his children to complete their education first. That’s what Suhana is doing – studying in London – but that hasn’t stopped her from getting a cover that most actresses dream about. In the accompanying shoot, Suhana is been seen sporting various outfits and posing like a pro.
Everything looks great save for one fact – Suhana doesn’t have a film or even an ad to her credit though she has dabbled with theatre a bit. Predictably, as in everything else, the internet has spoken. And most are asking a simple question – why?
Ouch, the 'Nepotism' question
The why her and why not others question
The most basic question
However, there were some voices of support too.
The why blame her question
But critics be damned, dad Shah Rukh, mum Gauri and ‘uncle’ Karan Johar have voiced their full support.
