In the series, which is based on Bilal Siddiqi’s book by the same name, Emraan plays the protagonist Adonis aka Kabir Anand, an Indian spy. In a statement, SRK had shared his views about Emraan’s suitability for the role.

“Kabir Anand’s character is that of someone who is not in-your-face tough, but has a macho personality and works with his mind plus there is a physical ability of an action hero and I think that mix perfectly fits Emraan,”

Sobhita, best known for her series Made in Heaven, plays Isha Khanna, another spy who needs to work with Adonis on a special mission. Sobhita has previously spoked about her new avatar in the series, sharing how she enjoyed the action sequences and also how the series has a human angle to it, showing the bond between characters and their evolution.

Kirti Kulhari (of Four More Shots fame), portrays a Balochistani woman Jannat Marri in the espionage thriller. In an interview with Firstpost, she revealed how her character was Shah Rukh Khan’s brainchild. She said, "When SRK sir read the script, he came up with the idea of including a character who will provide the much-needed soul to this espionage thriller show. He also suggested since Jannat is an artist, her house should reflect that with artwork on the walls, and tastefully done decor everywhere in the house."  The series will premiere on Netflix on 27th September 2019.
