Many B-Town celebrities have been moving towards digital platforms recently due to the growing popularity of these platforms. Shah Rukh Khan is collaborating with streaming service Netflix yet again. The superstar will be co-producing a horror series, titled Betaal. Written by Patrick Graham (who had helmed Ghoul starring Radhika Apte), it will be co-directed by Patrick and Nikhil Mahajan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma, Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment (Shah Rukh Khan). According to reports, the series will feature Vineet Kumar Singh and Aahana Kumra. However, the official announcement is yet to be made. This will be the third time Red Chillies Entertainment is collaborating with Netflix, after Bard of Blood and Class of 83.
Class of 83, a film directed by Atul Sabharwal, stars Bobby Deol in the lead role. The actor will be making his debut on Netflix with this film. Speaking about the project earlier, Bobby Deol had said, ““I have been in the industry for a long time and I have known Shah Rukh for years. He is a great guy and I am happy he is producing the project. He himself is very dedicated to his work and being part of his production is amazing as he makes sure no stone is left unturned to make a good project.”
Class of 83 is the story of a sincere policeman-turned-police instructor whose students try to understand the complexities of honour, morals and devotion towards their country. The film’s shooting commenced in May 2019 and the release date has not been announced yet.
Bard of Blood, which will premiere on Netflix on 27th September 2019, features Emraan Hashmi. The series will have seven episodes and is based on a bestselling espionage thriller novel of the same name, authored by Bilal Siddiqi. This show is the story of four Indian intelligence officers from the Indian Intelligence Wing (IIW) and what happens when all four are compromised before they can share an important piece of information with India. The series, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, also stars Amit Bimrot, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sobhita Dhulipala in vital roles.
